Day 1: Arrive in balmy Darwin and settle in to your chosen accommodation. The afternoon is yours to do as you wish, make sure to head down to the waterfront for a sunset dinner.
Day 2: Have a sleep in and relax for the morning. After lunch, you’ll be picked up for your Darwin City Sights tour. Relax as your Driver Guide showcases the booming tropical city of Darwin. Get the perfect introduction to Darwin’s history and landscape. Hear the stories of early settlers as you visit the Chinese Temple and stroll through the Botanic Gardens. View historic sites including the East Point Military Precinct, Mooring Basin and the Stokes Hill Wharf area. There’s time to explore the region’s premier cultural institution, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, with collections encompassing Aboriginal art and Northern Territory history. You’ll be dropped back at your hotel just in time for dinner.
Day 3: An early start as you head out to Litchfield. Litchfield National Park abounds with permanent spring fed waterfalls, remnant monsoon vine forests, unusual rock formations and interesting scenery. Spend a day exploring, relaxing and swimming in this wonderful park. Visit Florence Falls with the opportunity for a scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walk plus a chance for a swim in the plunge pool. Travel to Tolmer Falls to see the magnificent waters cascading down to the deep waterhole below. Finally visit Wangi Falls, another relaxing spot for a swim. A great day for photos, including the amazing stand of termite mounds. As part of your tour enjoy lunch at Litchfield Café.
Day 4: You’ve got the day free to do what you please. You may want to book a trip to Kakadu, eat seafood at any of the great restauarants at Cullen Bay Marina, or pick up some gifts from any of the shops along Smith Street Mall. If it’s a weekend, there is sure to be a markets on – Parap Markets on Saturday mornings, Nightcliffe on Sunday morning and Mindil Beach Markets on Thursday and Sunday evenings.
Day 5: Bid farewell to the outback as you pack up, head home or onto your next fabulous destination.
