What time of year is best to cruise Darwin & surrounds? When should you book?
Cruises around Darwin do not run during the wet season due to the high probability of storms and monsoons which make for unseaworthy weather conditions.
Darwin’s dry season (from March to October) is the best time to visit the area. Any time within the dry months is perfect to take a cruise, but July and August tend to be the best months to experience blue skies and calm seas, while May has a nice average daytime temperature of 33°C with cooler evenings making for pleasant nights.
This time of year is of course quite hectic with other holidaymakers so spaces fill up fast. Cruises should ideally be booked a year in advance to avoid disappointment.
